4 months of preparation...

In November of 2012 I decided to begin my application with the Peace Corps. I had just been visited by a friend who is living in Cambodia and had a friend just return from serving in the Peace Corps in Senegal. Between the two, their stories seemed to give me the push I needed to start my application. Not long after, I went through my interview process, was nominated and did a little bit more paperwork only to wait a couple more months. However, the more I researched the country, the more I began to fall in love with my assignment. Four months have passed since I was invited and it has been a whirlwind preparing for my departure. I visited quite a plethora of doctors, did some traveling to see both of my sisters and came home to throw together the last of my paperwork and miscellaneous packing concerns. Here I am, four days until I leave and I can’t believe I’m so close.
