Cuyahoga River Reaches Highest Level — Ever

Last week's volatile storm has sent water blasting through the local Gorge Metro Dam.

Athletes aren't the only ones who like to break records; Mother Nature is quite the competitor as well.

Following last week's severe storm, the Cuyahoga River crested at 14.28 feet, which just happens to be the highest level ever recorded, according to Cuyahoga Falls Service Director Valerie Wax Carr.

The speed of the water, which is measured in terms of cubic feet per second, was clocked at 5,400 cfs, the Falls News-Press reported.

To put it in perspective, a speed of 200 cfs would be ideal for the safe removal of the Sheraton Mill Dam.
