Cuyahoga Falls Mosquito Spraying Complete

Resident should see a reduction in local mosquito populations.

The Summit County Board of Health is hard at work reducing the mosquito population in neighborhoods across the area.

On June 12, the Board's Mosquito Control Program sent its trucks through Cuyahoga Falls; and, according to program coordinator Andrew Deikun, the spray is highly effective in killing the pesky critters.

The truck's use ulta low volume spray machines to knock out mosquitoes within a 150-foot radius, said Deikun.

When the mist hits the insects, the kill rate is over 90 percent.

Deikun noted the spray works well in densely populated cities like the Falls since houses are close to the street, and are in close proximity to one another.
