New Ward 4 Councilwoman Sworn Into Office

Meet the new Cuyahoga Falls Ward 4 City Council member.

Farewell Mark Ihasz, hello Mary Nichols-Rhodes.

On Wednesday, the Summit County Democratic Party Ward 4 Central Committee chose Rhodes as its new representative by a vote of 2-0 at Rocco's Pizza.

Ihasz, who resigned after he and his family decided to relocate to Florida for professional reasons, nominated Rhodes.

Fellow member Bruce Bidwell gave the second vote, and Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Paul Gallagher, a Falls resident, swore the new councilwoman into office.

Rhodes has lived in the Falls for over 40 years, is a '78 Cuyahoga Falls High School alum and has raised two children.
