Bid Farewell to Falls' Diamond Deli

The local deli was shuttered after one year.

It's time to say so long to Diamond Deli.

Last January, it seemed like a good move when the popular, Akron-based sandwich shop opened a second location at 2202 Front St.

Unfortunately, remote parking, limited hours and a lack of seating played into the deli's recent closing.

The city had spoken to owner Chuck Magilavy about expanding to provide seating, but the talks never materialized, Cuyahoga Falls Deputy Development Director Jennifer Syx said.

"We will miss them but wish them the best," said Syx.

But, not to worry, Diamond fans can still enjoy the deli's signature corned beef and matzoh ball soup at the Akron shop, located at 378 S. Main St.
