Debb Guziak, Neighbor

Debb Guziak graduated from Kent State University with a degree in journalism.

She was a news reporter for the Record-Courier, a daily paper covering Portage County. It was at the R-C where she started writing humor columns based on her life's experiences. These columns were well accepted by readers and earned her many local awards and an Associated Press Society of Ohio award.

"I like to write for others," she said. "I want people to read my columns and see a little of themselves in it. I want people to say 'that happened to me, too!' I want them to laugh and forget for just a moment or two the many horrors of the world that make the news."

A wife and mom, she enjoys many things, including time with her family, sewing, cross-stitching, reading, gardening, pets, scrapbooking - lots of other things, too.

"You gotta have an open mind when it comes to things. You may find out you like it."
