On the article Shaker Fireworks Shows Go On As Scheduled

ReplyMy husband and I were able to enjoy the Shaker Heights fireworks with our 5 yr old along. It was our first time going to a fireworks "show" as a family. Thankfully we saw absolutely no negative behavior in the area where we sat with many other families. We had a nice night and apparently missed seeing a lot of negative stuff happening. Glad we took friends' advice and found a spot away from the drama. No difficulties on the travelling at the end either....got home to where we live in Cleveland Heights with no problem.
I was just telling a friend that I feel very thankful that my daughter has so far been able to experience so many positive settings living here in the Heights amid diversity every day.
I hope these issues will be addressed and any problems solved so the fireworks can continue every year. There are not many options in the area it seems for fireworks to see nearby. -

ReplyThanks, Michelle, for covering this story and spreading the word. My family and I really love living in Cleveland Heights, and this Cain Park July 4th parade was a local event with such positive energy and spirit for the good of our city. I hope this event will be repeated next year and maybe grow with more getting involved gradually. By dressing up, decorating her bike, parading, and then congregating afterwards in the play area and meeting some new friends that live here too and love the Heights, my young daughter was able to experience something really wonderful. This city has so much that is positive for us to enjoy. Thanks to all of you out there who help add to that positive energy!

ReplyI love photo #237. It shows a wonderful Heights Library event with kids who represent a slice of Cleveland Heights neighborhoods and a dedicated children's librarian, Henry, at work helping to make free Heights events possible for all. Our city has great free events for all to enjoy and a superb library system.

ReplyThanks for the info available here. It's unfortunate that an important info night for prospective Kindergarten parents for all the elementary schools in Cleveland Heights is tonight also...at Canterbury school at the same time. Very poor planning on someone's part. It's disturbing that our local neighborhood school (Fairfax) may be closing and we are just finding out about it. Wish I could go to the meeting about the building changes tonight. Why isn't this better publicized so people who don't have access to multiple news sources can take part? I feel lucky I at least am plugged into the news available on this site, also through FutureHeights news postings, and contact with friends' posts on Facebook...but many residents have no idea what is going on. It doesn't seem right. The big changes brewing for our city's school district will have a huge impact on all of us.

Aww! Thanks, Tracy!
We were enjoying Zoar Village together that day in that photo.
So many fun things to do as a couple in Ohio...but also for families to do too while kids are young.
