Kevin M. Matheny and Joshua M. Swigart, both of Cuyahoga Falls, were arrested Tuesday on multiple drug-related charges.
At 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, the Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 306 Kathron Ave. and arrested Kevin M. Matheny and Joshua M. Swigart. Police obtained the warrant after an investigation showed that Matheny was dealing heroin from the residence, according to Cuyahoga Falls Police Sgt. James Singleton. Matheny, 23, and Swigart, 18, both of Cuyahoga Falls, were arrested after they happened to drive up while police were on scene, said Singleton. Drugs were found in the vehicle the men arrived in, which led to Swigart's arrest. The U.S. Marshals Task Force and Summit County Drug Unit assisted local police in the drug bust. Todd M. James, 54, of Cuyahoga Falls, and Leo C. Stalter II, 27, of Tallmadge, were charged with numerous meth-related felony counts on Thursday.
Two men were arrested on Thursday morning after their suspected meth lab exploded in the 900 block of Magnolia Avenue. Cuyahoga Falls fire fighters arrived on scene at 8:06 a.m. and immediately grew suspicious when they saw Todd M. James and Leo C. Stalter II trying to extinguish the subsequent fire that had broken out in an attached garage. The Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics Unit along with the Summit County Drug Unit responded and determined the home was being used to produce methamphetamine, according to Falls Police Sgt. On Monday, police raided 312 Grant Ave., arrested two suspects and hit the pair with multiple felony counts.
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics Unit and Summit County Drug Unit busted up yet another meth lab on Monday afternoon in the city. This time, police raided 312 Grant Ave. following an investigation of the residence which indicated drug activity, according to Falls Police Sgt. James Singleton. Once inside, police arrested Edward M. Collins III, 38, and Chelsea C. Park, 23, and charged the pair of Falls residents with multiple felonies. Collins was hit with manufacturing methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture, a third-degree felony; possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. On Aug. 16, police executed a warrant at 3782 Northampton Rd., and found two Akron men allegedly cooking and storing methamphetamine at the residence.
Two Akron men – Nathan E. Ketterman III, 30, and Kevin A. Smith, 41 – were arrested and charged with several drug-related felonies following a police raid on Aug. 16. With the use of undercover agents and surveillance measures, the Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics Unit and Summit County Drug Unit were able to execute a search warrant at 3782 Northampton Rd. Cuyahoga Falls Police -- along with undercover agents from the Summit County Drug Unit -- are conducting a search at 3782 Northampton Rd. According to Falls Police Lt. Steve Guldeman, a warrant had been issued Thursday for officers to enter the residence. Police on scene opted not to comment. However, according to information culled from police radio dispatches, it appears the residence was being used to cook and store methamphetamine. In related news, the same house was raided May 4 by the Falls Police Narcotics Unit and the Summit County Drug Unit. Police and the Summit County Drug Unit find 18 pounds of marijuana and drug-related tools.
Police arrested two men after discovering pounds of marijuana inside a Cuyahoga Falls apartment. Mark G. Wooldridge, 22, of Bowling Green and Antonio V. Dorman, 21, of Akron, were arrested on felony drug trafficking charges Tuesday. The Cuyahoga Falls Narcotics Unit and the Summit County Drug Unit used a search warrant to raid the apartment at 4175 Americana Dr. Police seized 18 pounds of marijuana, a handgun, plastic bags, a digital scale and other drug-related tools. About 10 pounds of the marijuana was in brick form, wrapped in plastic.
