Falls High Briefly Put on 'Place and Secure Status' After Toddler Pulls Fire Alarm

Cuyahoga Falls High School faculty, staff and students were relieved to learn the fire alarm was tripped on accident by a 2-year-old.

Cuyahoga Falls High School was put on "place and secure status" when a 2-year-old inadvertently pulled a fire alarm at 10:51 a.m. Friday morning. Principal Anne Alfano said surveillance video confirmed the child tripped the alarm while in the arms of a parent. "To know it wasn't one of the kids was a huge relief," said Alfano. Once the alarm sounded, faculty, staff and students evacuated the school while Cuyahoga Falls Police and Fire assessed the situation, she said. When students returned to class, place and secure was briefly activated, then lifted.
