Utility Update: City Signs Natural Gas Contract With IGS Energy

Cuyahoga Falls has signed a new natural gas contract with IGS Energy. The offer provided will be a monthly variable rate through March 2013; it’s price protected, and has a cap of $5.74/mcf, according to Valerie Wax Carr, the Cuyahoga Falls director of public service. There is no cancelation fee to leave the program. During the transition to IGS Energy, customers' accounts for the May billing cycle will revert to Dominion East Ohio's Standard Choice Offer (SCO) for service, with a rate of $2.636/mcf., said Carr. On the first of each month, a new variable rate with IGS Energy will be announced. Utility Update: Cuyahoga Falls Making the Switch to IGS Energy

Next month, many Falls gas customers will move from Vectren Source Energy to IGS.

Cuyahoga Falls Director of Public Service Valerie Wax Carr has announced the city has entered into a new natural gas contract with IGS energy. The current contract with Vectren Source Energy is set to expire at the end of April, said Carr in a prepared statement.  The Vectren rate of $3.4008/mcf variable and $4.491/mcf fixed will run through April, which is reflected on the May bill. “Under the terms of the Aggregation Program, eligible residential and small commercial customers will be included in the purchasing group automatically unless they elect to opt out of the program,” she said.   IGS will be sending information to all eligible customers on or around Friday, April 20. “The new contract with IGS Energy will end in March 2014,” she …
