Chad Zumock was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a crash in Lakewood on Friday morning.
Comedian and radio personality Chad Zumock, who was charged with drunken driving after crashing his car into a tree in Lakewood on Friday, has been fired from his job at WMMS. The 37-year-old former co-host of the Alan Cox Show, who lives just a couple blocks away from the incident, was not injured in Friday's crash and refused to take a breathalyzer test. Zumock had performed just hours before the accident at the Funny Stop in Cuyahoga Falls. Cleveland.com reported that Zumock’s arrest “voided a contract he had signed with Clear Channel Communications," the parent company of the radio station. Cleveland radio personality and comedian Chad Zumock was arrested and charged with drunken driving in Lakewood early Friday morning, WEWS reports.' Radio Personality Fired After Drunken Driving Arrest Zumock, a Lakewood resident, was driving east on Lake Avenue when his Chevy Cruze veered into the westbound lane before striking a tree in the 13000 block of Lake Avenue, according to the Lakewood police report. The 37-year-old co-host of the Alan Cox Show on WMMS, who lives just a couple blocks away from the accident scene, was not injured in the crash and refused to take a breathalyzer test. For a good laugh to shake off the stress of holiday prep, Funny Stop hosts comedian Tommy Blaze Dec. 6 through Dec. 10. He’s a guy who can bring in a crowd of more than 150 people and has enough material to do a different show every day of the week. “If he saw you, he could do a show just on you,” said Funny Stop Advertising Manager Nidal Barakat. His vast comedic material stems from his 30 years of experience as regular on The Newz and in comedy clubs, casinos and more. Comedy club kicks-off new summer entertainment option for teens.
Teens, who now have to abide to a new evening curfew along the riverfront, have a new place to hangout on weekends. Andy Hawes, a clinical social worker by day and musician by night, decided to take his idea for a teen-only band night to Pete Barakat, the owner of the Funny Stop Comedy Club. Barakat agreed to hire Hawes’ son Tyler, who is a sophomore in Firestone High School's Visual and Performing Arts Program, to be the teen program director to find, schedule and coordinate all the bands. Tyler will serve as the Master of Ceremonies and stage manager for the weekly shows. The Cuyahoga Falls dad said he hopes the venue becomes a place where young musicians can develop their craft and earn some extra cash. The Funny Stop will host Teen …
