Wind, Rain and Snow Coming to Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County

In addition to wind, the area is likely to receive snow today and Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the region — including Summit and Stark counties. Meteorologists are warning that southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts reaching up to 45 mph will rattle the region today. The strong winds are being caused by an arctic front that has moved into the area. The advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. today. Furthermore, the wind is expected to be joined by precipitation. Meteorologists predict that rain showers will turn into snow by the mid-morning today. The snow will persist through Wednesday with about an inch accumulation in Cuyahoga Falls today and less than an inch accumulation Wednesday. UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory in Effect, 2-4 Inches Expected

The National Weather Service reported the advisory will be lifted Saturday afternoon.

We finally got the first snow of the season, and on the official first day of winter, no less! The National Weather Service has put Cuyahoga Falls under a Winter Weather Advisory until Saturday afternoon, and expects 2 to 4 inches of snow to fall before the end of the day. Wind gusts will be around 33 mph. The low tonight will be 26 degrees.  On Saturday, there's a chance of snow until the afternoon. The high will be around 35 degrees. Winter Storm Headed for Cuyahoga Falls

20 to 40-plus mph winds and a steady snowfall are expected on Friday.

The weather has been pretty mild for December in Cuyahoga Falls this year, but that will most likely change on Friday.   Weather.com predicts early morning snow showers that may evolve to a steady snowfall in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation will rise from 80 percent during the day to 100 percent by nightfall.  Two to four inches of snow is expected, which will be accompanied by blustery winds that could gust at 20 to 40-plus mph Temps will range from 30 to 35 degrees. Expect soggy conditions and cloudy skies.

Friday: Showers with a high of 65 degrees. The chance for rain lingers into the evening hours, mainly before 7 p.m., with a low near 51 degrees. Saturday: Mostly cloudy skies with a 50-percent chance for showers. Highs are expected to reach the mid 60s and dip into the 50s at night.
