The list recognizes and praises the fastest growing in the region
Two Cuyahoga Falls-based businesses made the annual Weatherhead 100 list, which honors the fastest-growing companies in the region. ACU-Serve Corp and EnviroScience, Inc. both received the honors. To qualify for the list, companies must show consistent growth over the last five years. The Weatherhead 100 has been compiled and managed by the Council of Smaller Enterprises since 2004. When it began in 1987, it was produced by the Enterprise Development Inc. — the former nonprofit subsidiary of Case Western Reserve University. Small Business Saturday has arrived. It's a day for everyone to support the local shops and restaurants that give communities their unique and familiar touch. American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses garner exposure during the holiday season, when they might otherwise be overlooked. Last year, 100 million people nationwide participated in Small Business Saturday by shopping at locally-owned stores to help boost the economy and their communities. Cuyahoga Falls Business owner and resident creates t-shirts featuring city landmarks.
Show off your town pride the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce is selling Cuyahoga Falls t-shirts. "We wanted an item that people could buy that made Cuyahoga Falls shine on a souvenir," Laura Petrella said, chamber CEO. "We get many requests by visitors and new residents who want an item that has Cuyahoga Falls on it," she said. The t-shirts change from black and white to colors when exposed to direct sunlight. The shirt designs were created by Right Brain Design Group Owner Matt Weiss. Weiss, a Falls resident, based on what the chamber felt would depict Cuyahoga Falls with recognizable landmarks to help promote the city; the River, the Clock Tower and the shade sails to the amphitheater.
