Due to water main repairs, a section of the city will need to boil drinking water to avoid potential health risks.
A boil alert has been issued for both sides of Broad Boulevard -- between 10th Street and 11th Street -- until Sunday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. The alert resulted after water dropped below pressure during a water main repair Friday. In accordance with EPA regulations, the City of Cuyahoga Falls asks affected residents to boil their water for at least two minutes.
The decision to break tradition and wrap the lights around the tree trunks verses the branches is kicking up some social media controversy. Offer your input in the Comments!

I look forward to the Broad Blvd lights every year, they just look so beautiful going all the way down the street, however, I really do prefer the lights in the branches rather than just on the trunks. I agree they look very incomplete, like a bunch of chopped off trees! The city as a whole does a great job of looking very festive during the Christmas holidays!   more ›
Traffic will be shut down around Falls River Square from roughly 9 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. on Friday night.
The Broad Boulevard exit ramp off State Route 8 southbound will be closed tonight for the Cuyahoga Falls Bicentennial fireworks show at Falls River Square. Portions of Broad from the expressway to 2nd Street will be shut down as well, according to Cuyahoga Falls Development Director Sue Truby. The road closures will be marked off with detour signage and police cruisers will be stationed along Broad to block traffic flow around the square. The closure should run approximately from 9 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. Friday night. The fireworks show will begin at 10 p.m.

Following a water main repair on Sunday, a boil alert has been issued for State Road only between Ohio Avenue and Falls Avenue, and for Broad Boulevard only between 21st Street and State Road. The alert will be in effect through Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 8:00 a.m., according to a City of Cuyahoga Falls press release. To ensure safety, boil your water for a minimum of two minutes.
Cuyahoga Falls police have barricaded the area adjacent to the broken water main on Broad Boulevard.
At about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, water began gushing from a broken main on Broad Boulevard. The Cuyahoga Falls Water Department has sent out crews to repair the break, according to police radio dispatches. Officers have closed down traffic on Broad between 21st Street and State Road.
Due to traffic light repairs, the exit ramp will be closed from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The State Route Route 8 southbound exit ramp at Broad Boulevard will be closed from 1 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25 for a traffic light repair, according to cityofcf.com. Emergency vehicles have been notified.
Traffic will be redirected toward the State Route 8/Broad Boulevard entrance.
Starting Tuesday, May 1, the State Route 8 North/Howe Avenue entrance ramp will be closed for 45 days due to embankment work, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. Detour signs will take motorists from Howe Avenue to Main Street to Newberry Street to Broad Boulevard. The work is part of a $200,000 project to complete bin wall repairs to Route 8 and Howe Avenue. The overall project will most likely be wrapped up by October.
