Cuyahoga Falls Patch: When did Metropolis Popcorn open, and how did you find yourself running a place like this? VanFossen: Metropolis Popcorn opened in 2004 in Kent, then moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 2007. I purchased the business from the original owner in October 2012. I had been looking for a business to buy since I was downsized during the summer of 2012, and was a huge fan of Metropolis as a customer. Sluggish Economy Isn't Slowing Down Cuyahoga Falls Entrepreneur

The American dream failed Brent VanFossen, so he recently decided to create a new one.

There are roughly 19,000 unemployed workers in Summit County and Brent VanFossen isn't one of them. VanFossen, 37, of Cuyahoga Falls, suffered two layoffs in the last four years due to economic factors beyond his control, and just recently, he decided it was time to restart his American dream. He's gone into business for himself and is building it client by client. To find out more about his venture, Patch corresponded with VanFossen to gain insight on his business plan and how others may be able to follow in his footsteps.
