Enraged Husband Charged After Baseball Bat Attack

Anthony Pickett, 45, of Atwater, was arrested Saturday for felonious assault and aggravated burglary for allegedly beating a man with a bat over suspected adultery.

When a man smashes through the door wielding a metal bat, it’s safe to assume he isn’t there to play a pickup game of baseball. Jason Brown, 39, of Akron, realized this when Anthony Pickett was charged with forcing his way into a room at the Ranch Motel on May 26 and beating him with an aluminum baseball bat. According to a Falls police report, Pickett, 45, of Atwater, accused Brown of an affair with his wife and clubbed him three times on the head and forearm. Pickett’s wife told police she had rented the room for Brown. A 13-year-old was in the room at the time of the incident.  Police and emergency medical services were called at 1 a.m. Saturday. By the time they got there, they found Brown with a gash in his head and a bruised forearm…
