Crews are actively working to fix the water main break.
A water main break was reported at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Bailey Road and Northmoreland Boulevard, according to John Christopher, director of the Cuyahoga Falls Water Department. Due to the break, traffic has been disrupted and a detour is in effect, said Christopher. Bailey road is open, but Christopher is asking motorists to drive carefully near the road crew working on the break. However, motorists driving on Bailey will not be able to turn onto Northmoreland; they will need to turn onto Treasch Drive, and then take a left at Sedro Street in order to head east on Northmoreland. Due to water main repairs, a section of the city will need to boil drinking water to avoid potential health risks.
A boil alert has been issued for both sides of Broad Boulevard -- between 10th Street and 11th Street -- until Sunday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. The alert resulted after water dropped below pressure during a water main repair Friday. In accordance with EPA regulations, the City of Cuyahoga Falls asks affected residents to boil their water for at least two minutes.
Cuyahoga Falls Service Director Valerie Wax Carr said repairs on the water main and road are underway.
A water main burst in front of Preston Elementary School on Tuesday, causing subsequent traffic disruptions on Tallmadge Road between High Street and Magnolia Avenue. According to Cuyahoga Falls Service Director Valerie Wax Carr, Tallmadge has been closed on and off as crews have worked to repair the damage. Carr said the water main has been fixed, and that water service has been restored. A boil alert will not be issued, she said. As it stands, Tallmadge will reopen by about 2 p.m. Wednesday after city workers finish repairing the road.

Cuyahoga Falls police have barricaded the area adjacent to the broken water main on Broad Boulevard.
At about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, water began gushing from a broken main on Broad Boulevard. The Cuyahoga Falls Water Department has sent out crews to repair the break, according to police radio dispatches. Officers have closed down traffic on Broad between 21st Street and State Road.
A portion of the Falls Avenue is closed and water is running on Sackett Avenue.
Service crews are out working on Falls Avenue and Sackett Avenue Thursday night. A Cuyahoga Falls service department employee said a water valve was broken on Sackett Avenue near the corner of 19th Street Thursday night. The portion of Falls Avenue between 19th and 20th street is temporarily closed while crews work on the pipes there as well. Sackett Avenue is open. The service department employee said there is no boil alert issued in the area.

The city of Cuyahoga Falls is asking those along Sixth St. to boil their water.
A portion of a pipe was removed following a water main break along Sixth Street Wednesday. As a precaution, the city has issued at Boil Alert for residents along Sixth Street between Washington Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue until Friday at 9 a.m. The city had also repaired a water main pipe along Fifth Street on Feb. 7. The Cuyahoga Falls water department has issued a boil alert for residents who live near a portion of Graham Rd.
City water department officials said the recent cold weather could have caused a water pipe on Graham Rd. to break Tuesday afternoon. A section of the pipe was removed after the break, which caused the water pressure to drop, according to a city press release. A boil alert is for residents on Graham Rd. between Oakwood Dr. and Prior Dr. It's suggested residents boil water for at least 2 minutes. The break occurred at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. The alert will remain in effect through Friday at 10 a.m.
