Police Swap Toys for Traffic Tickets in Cuyahoga Falls

Over the next two weeks, officers will issue "toy waivers" to some motorists who break minor traffic laws. The waivers will encourage drivers to purchase and donate a toy.

Getting pulled over isn't exactly a favorite pastime of Cuyahoga Falls motorists; however, folks may luck out as officers spread a little holiday spirit.  Some drivers caught committing minor traffic violations over the next two weeks will receive a "toy waiver" versus a ticket, said Cuyahoga Falls Police Chief Tom Pozza. The waivers will encourage drivers to donate a toy to the Toys for Tots program. According to Pozza, minor violations include those that don't put other motorists at risk, like driving without a front license plate.  "We're trying to spread a little holiday cheer," said Pozza. "This is our fifth year running the program, and each year has been a success." Drivers that receive toy waivers are asked to drop their unwrapped …

Redeem Your Ticket with a Toy for Tots

Donations being accepted at Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.

Between Dec. 4 and Dec. 17, people with a Cuyahoga Falls traffic warning can earn a waiver by donating to Toys for Tots at the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. During the fourth annual Trade a Ticket for a Toys for Tots Donation Cuyahoga Falls police will issue "toy waivers" to replace a typical warning received for a minor traffic case. The toy waiver will encourage the minor traffic violator to donate a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots. The toy can be dropped of at the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department, 2310 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 between December 4 and December 17, 2011.
