Smash and grab On May 6 at 8:44 a.m., the owner of Studio Eleven -- located at 1714 Portage Trail -- contacted police after someone smashed through her door and entered the business while it was closed. The thief reportedly stole cash from a register and fled, according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report. Total loss and damage: $1,000. Busted Robert L. Bauer, 42, of Cuyahoga Falls, was hit with a pair of felonies on May 4 after police found heroin, cocaine, a burnt spoon and syringes in his car during a routine traffic stop, according to a police report. Conned A Cuyahoga Falls resident reportedly gave someone $2,000 to secure sweepstakes winnings. By April 27, after a year of sending money, the man grew suspicious and called Falls police. Officers quickly deduced the sweepstakes was a sham, and police have no leads on the suspected con man. Thieves love unlocked doors A Cuyahoga Falls woman arrived to her unlocked 11th Street home on April 26 and realized her Apple MacBook and TVs had been swiped. Total loss: $3,500. Drowsy dad A resident quickly called Cuyahoga Falls police on April 23 at 12:54 p.m. after spotting two small children wandering down the 1300 block of Curtis Avenue. According to police, the children left their Myrtle Avenue home when their father had dozed off. The children were returned unharmed. He was doing what? A 25-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman received quite the shock when she reportedly caught a man masturbating on her front porch. The man fled from her Cliffside Street residence and police were unable to locate him. Missing motorcycle A 26-year-old Kent woman called Cuyahoga Falls police on April 20 after her 2001 Honda Rebel motorcycle, helmet and bicycle were stolen from a garage in the 2800 block of Norma Street. Estimated loss: $2,300. Don't cry wolf On April 17 at 7:58 p.m., a woman called 911 and reported a man had stormed into her residence -- located in the 4300 block of Riverview Road -- and threatened her with a gun stuck in his waistband. Several police officers rushed to the scene and quickly realized it was a prank call. Vandals strike again On April 16 at 9:20 a.m., a city groundskeeper called Cuyahoga Falls police to report that more than 20 headstones had been overturned at Oakwood Cemetery. This is the fourth time a major vandalism has occurred at the cemetery within the last 10 months. In late March, vandals reportedly smashed 31 gravestones and monuments, according to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Facebook page. Crimestoppers is offering a reward in exchange for information that leads to one or more arrests. Falls police pledged it would match the amount to increase the likelihood of finding those responsible. As of April 22, police have no suspects or leads. More burglaries A 21-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman living in the 1300 block of Bailey Road called police April 3 after a burglar reportedly entered her home and stole $200 worth of electronics. Dynamic duo A pair of suspected Akron thieves used a "modified device" to steal video games at Target, according to a March 28 Cuyahoga Falls police report. The duo reportedly pulled off the criminal stunt four times. Upon arrest, one of the thieves was allegedly caught with a hypodermic needle and a bent spoon. The thieves reportedly used a police scanner cell phone app to try and stay one step ahead of officers. Bizarre behavior A Cuyahoga Falls woman called police on March 27 after someone she knew reportedly made advances toward her, texted her and drove by her house. Drugging and driving At 3 p.m. Feb. 25, a 22-year-old North Canton man, reportedly high on keyboard cleaner, crashed his car into a tree. The man reportedly inhaled a 12-ounce aerosol can then passed out and crashed in the 200 block of Roselane Street SW. The process is known as "huffing," where inhalants are used to induce alcohol-like intoxication. The police report did not indicate whether he was treated for injuries.
