Masked Men Spotted off State Road; Falls Pipe Bomb Maker Sentenced: Crime Blotter

Attempted robbery? On April 14 at about 2:20 a.m., a 19-year-old Kent man was about to make an after hours deposit at the State Road PNC Bank when he noticed two men in ski masks running past the bank's drive-thru area. The man, startled by the suspected robbers, drove across State Road and called 911; however, officers were unable to locate the pair, according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report. Masked Man Attempts Papa John's Robbery, Fails No money was taken from the bank or other nearby businesses, there are no suspects or leads and no weapon was seen. The matter remains under investigation, said Falls Police Lt. Steve Guldeman. Bomb maker sentenced David A. Dougherty, 41, was sentenced to three years in prison by Judge Christopher …
