Breaking in for $30 — A 60-year-old Cleveland Heights man was arrested for breaking in and vandalizing multiple businesses in the Cedar-Lee district. Police said Michael Moore smashed a window at The Stone Oven at 4:30 a.m. Aug 2 to get to the register. He got away with a grand total of $30. Moore is also accused of breaking into The Wine Spot. McDonald's in Munroe Falls and Valleyview Tattoo in Stow donated 20 percent of its proceeds to the Bastock Family Fund Feb. 24.
A crush of people packed the McDonald's in Munroe Falls Feb. 24 in support of a fundraiser for fallen Stow Officer Jonathan Bastock's family fund. The event was organized by friend and neighbor Cassie Smith Jebber. McDonald's agreed to donate 20 percent of its proceeds to the fund between 5 and 8 p.m. Feb. 24. The total amount won't be tallied until Monday, she said. "I was told they broke records that evening," Jebber said. Valleyview Tattoo on Hudson Drive also joined the cause. Owner Mary Merrie said she had 14 people getting a tattoo with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the Bastock family.
