Bobby Thomas, one of the task force’s fugitives of the week, was arrested Wednesday morning.
An alert, anonymous citizen helped the U.S. Marshals arrest a man suspected of rape earlier this morning. Last week, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force featured Bobby Thomas as its fugitive of the week. Thomas, 39, was wanted by the Lakewood Police Department for rape and kidnapping. According to a release from the task force, Thomas allegedly raped a child under the age of 14 multiple times between August and October 2012. The release notes that the U.S. Marshals received a number of tips regarding Thomas since he was featured, but none led them to his current location. Hours after his arrest on Thursday, Cuyahoga Falls police added new charges -- from kidnapping and rape to the manufacture of drugs -- against Brandon J. Richards.
If the allegations are true, Brandon J. Richards is in a world of trouble. Suspected Weed Trafficker Arrested After Felony Domestic Violence Dispute Richards, 23, of Cuyahoga Falls, was charged with kidnapping and rape -- both first-degree felonies -- after detectives examined evidence collected from his Bath Heights Drive residence on Thursday, said Cuyahoga Falls Police Sgt. Utter depravity A man reportedly tried to kidnap and rape a woman after she walked out of the Red Fox Sports Pub & Grille early Sunday morning. According to a Cuyahoga Falls Police report, an unidentified man pulled the 30-year-old Akron woman into his car, parked off Falls Avenue and 20th Street, and tried to sexually assault her. Fortunately, she managed to escape and notify the authorities. The suspected rapist fled with her cash and purse in hand before officers arrived. Police are investigating. Closed for business Brandon S. Richards was arrested on Dec. 3 after Cuyahoga Falls Police found him in possession of 119 grams of marijuana and five oxycodone pills. Overnight, a Stow man attempted to rob two gas stations and a fast food restaurant by threatening he had a weapon, before being arrested in a neighboring city for an aggravated robbery charge in Cuyahoga Falls. Joe R. Schratz, 40, of North Norman Drive in Stow was arrested Sept. 20 and charged by Stow with aggravated robbery (first-degree felony) and kidnapping (second-degree felony). On Monday (Sept. 19) evening around 11 p.m. Stow Police said they got a call from a 24-year-old clerk at the Fishcreek Road Speedway who said an adult white man threatened he had a weapon, took cash and forced her into a cooler, according to police.
