Yesberger's key plays help Black Tigers win, 62-60.
Ryan Yesberger's clutch plays in overtime helped the Cuyahoga Falls High School boys basketball team to an exciting 62-60 win over visiting Solon on Tuesday night. His heroics wouldn't have been possible without a pass from freshman Josh Ricker to senior Kyle Rospert for a basket at the end of regulation that tied the score at 56. The victory was particularly sweet for coach Rob Slone, who has lamented the Black Tigers' inability to close out games. "Right now it does," Slone said when asked if the win erased some of the heartbreaking losses. Cuyahoga Falls improved to 5-11 while Solon dropped to 6-11. Freshmen lead Black Tigers to comeback victory.
Sloppy basketball was the name of the game on Friday night at Twinsburg High School. Turnovers plagued both teams in the first half, and the two played to a 12-12 tie after one quarter. "They made some adjustments [tonight], and we didn't adjust...and gave up a lot of easy looks." The second quarter followed suit, but Twinsburg began to pull away until the final minute. Junior Cory Asbury canned back-to-back three pointers to bring Falls within two points. Twinsburg reached halftime with a four point lead. "I told them we had to push the ball a little bit more…

Black Tigers lead early, but fall on road, 50-40.
The Cuyahoga Falls student section was fired up to play rival Stow-Munroe Falls. So were the Black Tigers' boys basketball players, who jumped to a 9-3 lead on Tuesday night. Despite the homecourt cheers and intense effort, the smaller Tigers fell to the bigger, badder Bulldogs, 50-40. "I've got good kids who really play hard and I want them to win," coach Rob Slone said. "They struggle to understand how to execute the offense, how to play through on defense." Mix in being outrebounded 30-18 and making only four of seven free throws as compared to 16 of 22 from the foul line by the Bulldogs, and it was another loss. That dropped the Black Tigers to 3-11 overall, 2-4 in the Northeast Ohio Conference. "Every time we made a mistake on defense…
