Scammed On Jan. 23, a Cuyahoga Falls woman was reportedly bilked out of $503 after an unidentified con man called her at work, and convinced her to buy and activate a prepaid network card from vanillareload.com, according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report. Police are investigating. Email death threat A Cuyahoga Falls man received an email in which his life was threatened, according to a Jan. 22 police report. The sender also claimed a contract had been put out on the man's life. The man intends to prosecute. Fast food fury On Jan. 5, a woman asked a co-worker to perform a task while on the job, but the fellow employee didn't take too kindly and responded with a death threat. Alarmed, the woman called Cuyahoga Falls police and officers arrived at the Howe Avenue fast food restaurant where the women work. After conversing with the cops, the threatened woman opted not to press charges. So long, Coach An absent-minded student forgot to lock her car after pulling into the Cuyahoga Falls High School parking lot on Jan. 4. When she returned to the car, her Coach book bag and its contents were reportedly missing. Estimated loss: $900. There are no leads or suspects. Daytime burglary A woman living in the 3100 block of 8th Street called Cuyahoga Falls Police on Nov. 14 after her house was ransacked in an apparent daytime burglary. Multiple possessions were stolen. Total loss: $600. Police are investigating and the woman does wish to prosecute if the culprit is found. Cleaned out Someone swiped a resident's debit card and withdrew $1,400 from his FirstMerit Bank checking account on Nov. 13. Police have a pair of suspects, and according to the police report, the man is weighing whether or not to press charges.
