Sex Sting Leads to Termination of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Coach

A Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy girls basketball coach is under investigation after being arrested in what police are calling a "prostitution sting" in Willoughby. Willoughby police said Ryan Tyna, 42, of Hudson, was arrested last week after responding to an ad placed on a website commonly used by prostitutes. The ad offered adult services for a special rate of $100 for a half hour. Eleven other men were arrested along with Tyna Thursday and Friday, according to the police department's news release. The men thought they'd meet a 20-year-old woman at a motel, the news release said. Instead they were met by police. The men have been charged with soliciting and possession of criminal tools, both misdemeanors. They are scheduled to appear …

Walsh Jesuit Girls Win State Soccer Title: CVCA Boys Program Plays Saturday

Cuyahoga Falls knows soccer. Walsh Jesuit shut out Columbus St. Francis DeSales on Friday. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy boys play Dayton Carroll Saturday.

Updated Nov. 11, 9:21 a.m. The Walsh Jesuit girls soccer team claimed its sixth Division II state title Friday after shutting out Columbus St. Francis DeSales 5-0. According to the Falls News Press, Walsh's margin of victory was the largest ever in a championship game. Off to the Races: CVCA, Cuyahoga Falls High Break Records at Don Faix Invitational

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and Cuyahoga Falls High School are certainly on the right track this season.

Apparently, track and field athletes from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and Cuyahoga Falls High School are quite familiar with the saying that records are meant to be broken. This past Saturday at Crestwood High’s Don Faix Memorial Invitational, CVCA’s Benny Schwarz, Evan Carroscia, Darryl Moore and Kevin Moore set a meet record in the 1,600-meter relay by winning in 3:33.5. Cuyahoga Falls’ Chris Harris also put his name in the Faix record books by clearing the 300-meter hurdles in 40.6 seconds, according to www.ohio.com.

Cuyahoga Falls Resident Mason Blake Named as 2011 Valedictorian for CVCA

Graduation ceremony this Sunday at The Chapel in Green.

Cuyahoga Falls resident Mason Blake, son of Bill and Anita Blake, has been named valedictorian for the 2011 graduating class of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.  The commencement ceremony for the school will take place May 29 at The Chapel in Green. During his high school career, Mason enjoyed a variety of academic and athletic activities. A member of the tennis team, he played on the junior varsity his freshman and sophomore years and the varsity team his junior and senior years. He served as treasurer, president and advisor during his four years on the Junior Classical League.
