New Bar Coming to the Falls, Portage Crossing Plundered & More: Week in Review

Here's what's happened in Cuyahoga Falls in the past few days

1. Dad screams expletives inside elementary school: There could have been better locations for this recent cursing match. Police responded to Lincoln Elementary School March 15 to find a man who reportedly was shouting expletives with parents and children in earshot. 2. Nurse solicited for sex while giving hospice care: A State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) told Cuyahoga Falls police she was solicited for sex while giving hospice care to a person living in the 2800 block of Cedar Hill Road. 3. Thieves plunder Portage Crossing: A Thompson Electric worker said someone stole nearly $20,000 in equipment from the construction site near Portage Trail and State Road. 4. New Ownership at the Falls Deli Means Fresh Look, Extended Hours & More Menu Items

Tony Rini Jr. purchased the restaurant last month and says the community is impressed with the changes

Things are looking a little different at the Falls Deli lately. Now under new ownership, the deli at 2625 Bailey St. is impressing customers with its extended hours, free delivery service, up-to-date interior and extensive menu (the number of items has nearly tripled). Tony Rini Jr., who bought the restaurant Feb. 15, says the community's response to the changes have been great. "People are taking really well to the new changes. I'm shocked; I thought we were going to have to work really hard at that," Rini said with a laugh. Rini suggests Falls residents check out the business' Facebook page to see what's been happening in the past few weeks. Golden Dragon Rollin' at Rockin' on the River

Pung family brings their peace, love and sushi to Rockin’ on the River.

Golden Dragon, a staple of the Cuyahoga Falls community since the late 1980s, is owned and operated by the Pung family. This summer, the Dragon spread its wings and joined Rockin’ on the River. Meng, the eldest Pung brother, runs the new operation. Pung said it’s a fun atmosphere and opportunity for the next generation of Pungs to get involved with the family business. Golden Dragon’s stand offers Chinese and Japanese fare. The menu includes: sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoon, egg roll, fried rice, California roll, spicy tuna roll and the sushi special of the week.
