Fast food fury On Jan. 5, a woman asked a co-worker to perform a task while on the job, but the fellow employee didn't take too kindly and responded with a death threat. Alarmed, the woman called Cuyahoga Falls police and officers arrived at the Howe Avenue fast food restaurant where the women work. After conversing with the cops, the threatened woman opted not to press charges. So long, Coach An absent-minded student forgot to lock her car after pulling into the Cuyahoga Falls High School parking lot on Jan. 4. When she returned to the car, her Coach book bag and its contents were reportedly missing. Estimated loss: $900. There are no leads or suspects. Ronald Azar, 34, of Cuyahoga Falls, was indicted by a federal grand jury for attempting to traffic over 100 high-end handbags.
Designer handbags are a girl's best friend; knockoffs are a crook's worst nightmare. On Tuesday, a federal grand jury indicted Ronald J. Azar, 34, of Cuyahoga Falls, for trafficking in counterfeit merchandise; specifically 104 imitation purses, which, if genuine, would have been valued at $183,000, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release. Azar attempted to pass off brands such as Gucci, Coach, Louis Vuitton, Dooney & Bourke, Fendi and Marc Jacobs by using counterfeit logos, labels, hangtags, stickers, packaging and holograms. “The marks on the merchandise were identical to and substantially indistinguishable from marks used on genuine merchandise,” the press release stated.
