School Closings: Absorbent Minds Montessori Chapel Hill Christian- North campus Cuyahoga Falls City School- canceled, the district has canceled afternoon activities, but the administration will review weather conditions by 1 p.m. to determine if any afternoon/evening activities can go on as scheduled. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School Redeemer Christian School Walsh Jesuit High School Woodridge Local Schools- the district will evaluate weather conditions this afternoon to determine if evening activities will be canceled. Other Closings: The University of Akron- Akron, Medina and Wayne campuses closed today. Kent State University- Kent campus closed all day. Riverfront YMCA- morning classes canceled.

Struggling chain files Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Cuyahoga Falls location of Borders Books Music Movies and Café at 335 Howe Ave. will remain open as the struggling retailer reorganizes under Chapter 11 bankruptcy. A manager at the store had no comment Wednesday, and referred to a corporate telephone number, which stated that no executives would be available for comment and referred to a website for further information. Seven Borders locations in Ohio will close, including stores in Medina and Mentor. Other stores to close are in greater Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton. After-school activities and sporting events canceled, parking ban remains in effect and the city's plows are out in full force.
The city has issued a parking ban, which will remain in effect until at least 8 a.m. Thursday morning. The Cuyahoga Falls City Schools have canceled all after-school programs. Woodridge Local Schools canceled classes on Wednesday. Bulldog sporting events including: the freshman boys basketballs game against Garfield, and the junior varsity and varsity girls basketball games are canceled. Streets Supervisor Chuck Novak said as of 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Falls had received almost eight inches of snow since the beginning of the storm on Tuesday afternoon.
