UPDATE: Driver Hospitalized After Route 8 Wreck

The Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and EMS were called to the scene.

Cuyahoga Falls Fire and EMS responded to a one-car accident at about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday on the State Route 8 Northbound bridge that passes over Howe Avenue. According to Cuyahoga Falls Fire Capt. Rob Campbell, the driver was transported to an area hospital for a medical evaluation; and he reported it appeared the man sustained only minor injuries. The man's car, a Nissan 280Z, was likely totaled in the wreck. The driver reportedly lost control of his car and hit a guard rail, which caused the one-car accident, said Campbell. The accident has been cleared and traffic on the northbound section of the freeway is flowing again.
