Police: Drunken Woman Cited After Getting Struck by Car

Watch that first step, it's a doozy On the evening of April 25, a drunk Cuyahoga Falls woman was struck by a passing car as she started to jaywalk at the intersection of Portage Trail and Fourth Street. According to a Cuyahoga Falls police report, the driver had no time to stop and was not at fault. The woman, who sustained a leg injury in the accident, was cited for disorderly conduct and transferred to Summa Western Reserve Hospital.  Better lock your doors A resident called police on April 23 after someone slipped through an unlocked door of his house and stole $515 in property.   Man and woman opt for five-finger discount A pair of thieves was spotted trying to swipe a stack of DVD’s from Giant Eagle on Monday afternoon. As the man and woman headed for the exit, they were grabbed by supermarket staff. They wriggled free, dropped the discs and ran off. Falls Man Indicted in Drug Mart Break-In

Cuyahoga Falls Police issued a press release regarding the incident Tuesday afternoon.

Already facing felony charges after police chased him into the Cuyahoga River in August, a Falls man is indicted for breaking into Discount Drug Mart in July. Police first reported the breaking and entering incident on July 20 at the store at 655 Portage Trail. Officers investigated the crime scene and collected a sample from a blood stain left behind by who they believed to be the suspect. Detectives matched that sample to Anthony S. Stemple, 26, and determined he was the suspect they watched in a surveillance video from the store. Stemple was indicted on breaking and entering charges, a felony of the fifth degree, by the Summit County Grand Jury. Stemple was also arrested on Aug. 15 after police chased him into the Cuyahoga River …

Break-In Reported at Garden Center

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The owner of a Cuyahoga Falls garden center told police that someone stole money from the shop late last week. The incident happened at Royaldale Nursery. The owner said someone broke into a window of the business between July 9 and 10. The suspect pried open the nursery’s coin machine and took all the change that was inside. The suspect didn’t grab a plant on the way out, only the coins were taken.

Police Blotter: Break-In at Emidio's, Theft Across Town

Breaking and entering An Emidio's employee told police that between June 16 and 17 someone broke into the restaurant at 3204 State Rd. by prying open a window of the building. The person broke into an empty cash register and a cash box which had $500 inside. Theft

Falls Resident Arrested, Charged with Breaking Windows of Funeral Home, Church

A recap of local crime April 3-11.

Cuyahoga Falls resident Ryan McMullen, 30, has been arrested in connection with damage to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home at 1930 Front St. and Pilgrim United Church of Christ on Broad Boulevard that occurred April 6. Windows in the rear main door of the funeral home and the building itself were smashed with a large rock, causing an estimated $400 in damage. A glass door on the south side of the church was shattered in the same manner, causing estimated damage of $200. The buildings were not entered. An assistant manager of Advance Auto Parts, 2249 State Rd., told Cuyahoga Falls police April 8 that someone used an unknown object to shatter a large window near the entrance to the store. Cuyahoga Falls: Police Blotter

The latest crime news from Jan. 17-20.

Breaking and Entering:  At 7 a.m. on Jan. 17, a resident of the 200 block of Monroe Avenue reported that someone kicked in the door to the property's unattached garage and various items, including tools, a television, a snow blower, stereo equipment, rim, and tires, were stolen. The estimated loss is approximately $13,000. Later on Jan. 17, it's reported someone entered an unlocked unattached garage located on the 1300 block of Front Street and removed a circular saw and a cordless drill. The items were valued at $350. Between 12:30 p.m. And 5 p.m. Jan 10, police report an unknown suspect entered a vacant home located on the 200 block of Pierce Avenue and removed the copper piping from the basement of the house.
