Neil Redington, 60, of Stow, was behind bars early Friday morning after reportedly beating a 60-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man.
A Stow man was arrested after allegedly causing severe facial injuries to another man early Friday morning. At 12:48 a.m., Cuyahoga Falls police responded to an apartment in the 1800 block of 2nd Street in reference to a suspicious situation, according to a news release posted to the department's Facebook page. There, they discovered a 63-year-old man "covered in blood," the news release stated. The victim reportedly told police that Neil Redington, 60, of Stow had beaten and kicked him when he told him to leave the apartment. The victim was taken to Akron City Hospital. Cuyahoga Falls received a slightly better rating than Stow by Cleveland Magazine as far as crime goes — but neither ranked highly for safety out of 77 cities considered in the report. The magazine recently released its "Rating the Suburbs" issue. Here's a run down of Stow's numbers: (Stow was ranked 65 out of 77 in safety, according to the magazine.) *Links attached to the above are examples of each category listed. Stow's population last year was about 34,800. Cleveland Magazine reports there are about 5.60 violent crimes per 1,000 people and 19.4 non-violent crimes per every 1,000 people. Assault, protection-order violation • A 12-year-old boy was assaulted at Roberts Middle School at about 1:50 p.m. Nov. 10, police said. The boy’s mother said a known juvenile grabbed the boy by the neck and choked him until he fell to the floor. The mother intends to prosecute. • A resident of the 400 block of Sackett Avenue reported that her 15-year-old son was struck in the head with a rock by an individual she has a protection order against at about 11:10 p.m. Nov. 8. The father said his daughter was punched repeatedly in the head, and he will prosecute. • A resident of the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue reported his son was punched and thrown to the ground at about 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Cuyahoga Falls High School. A Cuyahoga Falls woman faces felonious assault charges after police say she stabbed someone with a butcher knife. The stabbing occurred at a Portage Towers apartment. Cuyahoga Falls Police were called there at about 6 p.m. Sunday. The victim told police Lizbeth Besthoff-Grajales, 22, of Cuyahoga Falls, stabbed their left arm with a knife following an argument. The victim was taken to the hospital. Besthoff-Grajales was arrested and taken to the Cuyahoga Falls city jail.

An aggravated burglary June 9 turned into a quasi-professional wrestling match after a father and son pushed their way into a Cuyahoga Falls home and began punching, choking and hitting the victim with a chair, police said. The 27-year-old male victim said he and his girlfriend were in their apartment at 1451 2nd St. when Jospeh A. Vittorio, 52, and his son Joseph A. Vittorio Jr., 27, of Munroe Falls knocked on their door around midnight, police said. The victim told Cuyahoga Falls Police that he told the duo to go away and closed the door. The men then pushed their way into the home and started assaulting the victim, resulting in a bloody nose and a cut to the right thumb, along with swelling to his head and face, according to police. …

A man was assaulted Thursday by up to 15 people who surrounded him and took turns punching and kicking him at Oak Park. The man told Cuyahoga Falls police that after he ran to his car, the group kicked the vehicle, broke both rear-view mirrors and climbed onto the hood to further threaten him. A Silver Lake teen was taken into custody on charges in connection with the beating of another teen.
A Silver Lake teen is charged in connection with a beating of another teen at a downtown parking deck. The 16-year-old suspect is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, a Cuyahoga Falls Police Department press release said. The victim, a 16-year-old Cuyahoga Falls resident, suffered head injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital, police said. Police could not provide the name of the hospital. The incident took place Dec. 10 at the 2049 Front Street parking deck, near the ice rink and mall. The suspect was arrested at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Dec. 17.
