Walsh Jesuit Athletic Director Retiring

Grant Conzaman has been at the high school for 40 years.

Walsh Jesuit High School's Athletic Director Grant Conzaman is considered a to be a "win" for the athletic program since he was hired in 1973. He has been with the school district for 40 years and announced he is retiring next month, according to The Plain Dealer.  Conzaman is responsible for growing the school's athletic program from eight sports in 1978 to 14 today.  Click here to read the full Plain Dealer story.

Cuyahoga Falls Police Officer Gregory Kenepp got a pretty big "thank you" from the Cleveland Cavaliers March 20. The athletes designated the Green resident a Community Hero and honored him at their match with the Miami Heat that night. The Cleveland Cavs fanatic was chosen from more than 300 people to spend an evening with the basketball team. Pedal for Heroes Kicks Off Feb. 24 at Natatorium

The Pedal for Heroes fundraising event will honor Ohio fallen soldiers who've died since Sept. 11, 2001

A Pedal For Heroes fundraising event will be held at the Natatorium on Feb. 24, 2013. Participants will cycle for 276 minutes in honor of every Ohio fallen soldier who has sacrificed their life in the Middle East since Sept. 11, 2001. “The Pedal For Heroes event honors the military personnel whom have lost their lives and supports local veterans programs while engaging in physical activity,” said Cassie Schumacher, a main organizer of the event, in a news release provided to Cuyahoga Falls Patch. “Ohio veterans have given so much for us. Athletic Director: New Cuyahoga Falls Football Coach to Be Hired by May

Cuyahoga Falls Athletic Director Tom DiFrancesco said the high school will post the opening for the head football coach this week

As of right now, Cuyahoga Falls High School is officially without a head football coach. On Sept. 10, the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education appointed then-coach Mike Miller as unit principal of Falls High School for the 2012-13 school year, and on Monday, the board approved his resignation as head football coach, the Falls News-Press reports. Cuyahoga Falls Athletic Director Tom DiFrancesco told the Akron Beacon Journal the football coaching job will be posted internally and externally this week, and he hopes to have a new coach by April or May. “We hope to pick the best candidate that can keep up the high standards that Mike set,” DiFrancesco said in the Beacon. “Mike had the program going in the right direction after we had fallen on …
