On September 16, 2012, we sustained a water loss that resulted in an insurance claim on our condo unitowner policy.
Our insurance provider, State Farm, has been absolutely fantastic throughout this ordeal.
Our problems began when their local claims adjuster, Ms. Elizabeth Clift, visited our home to assess the loss and provided us with a recommendation for one of State Farm's preferred service providers, Carrara Construction.
While Carrara Construction was immediately responsive and showed great care, their entire efforts afterwards are embarrassing. After waiting nearly 7 weeks to initiate subsequent restoration from the point our loss occurred, we had nothing but a comedy of errors as follows.
1. Garage entry door was initially installed with WRONG hanging frame, causing door to enter the opposite direction
2. Kitchen floor started to be installed with existing moldy floor under
3. Kitchen sink fixture installed with side facing handle on front
4. Garage disposal gasket installed upside-down in new sink
5. New kitchen sink damaged by tech cleaning wrongly painted vent covers that scratched new stainless steel sink
6. Garage door opener line covered new attic stairs in garage that were installed
7. Drywall mud all over doorbell button in garage
8. Register vent covers mis-painted in living area
9. Paint all over microwave, stove, and travelling curtain rods in living room
10. Water leaking in new kitchen sink at P-trap
