Summa Western Reserve Hospital “How to Quit” Sessions for Spring/Summer 2013
The Summa Western Reserve Hospital Lung Health Program has expanded its free, group smoking cessation class schedule to also include several Saturday sessions this Spring and Summer, 2013.
The Summa Western Reserve Hospital Lung Health Program has expanded its free, group smoking cessation class schedule to also include several Saturday sessions this Spring and Summer. Class times and meeting locations within the hospital may vary. Guest may register and learn more about session times and locations by calling (330) 929-LUNG (5864).
The next free, 5-week “How to Quit” group session start dates will be:
- April 23rd
- May 11th
- May 28th
- June 15th
- July 2nd
- July 13th
The five-week sessions evaluate the quitting process, discuss quit attempts and strategies as well as pitfalls and successes among smokers who want to quit. A review of the harmful and addictive chemical contents of tobacco products and the effects of secondhand smoke is also provided. Resources and medications that help one curb tobacco cravings or quit tobacco use are also discussed.

The Summa Western Reserve Lung Health Program first launched in February of 2012 and features a rapid, non-invasive, pain-free low-dose CT screening. The scan produces a three-dimensional image of the lungs and has been proven extremely accurate for early detection of cancers and abnormalities in the chest.
