Summa Western Reserve Hospital recently honored several area EMS crews at stations in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Stow and Tallmadge area for EMS Week.

Summa Western Reserve Hospital recently honored several area EMS crews at stations in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Stow and Tallmadge area to celebrate National Emergency Medical Services Week, which was held May 20-26. The hospital treated the crews to lunches during the week, which highlights safety awareness and pays tribute to the dedicated men and women within EMS crews across the nation who provide the day-to-day, lifesaving services on the front lines of health care.

Summa Western Reserve Hospital also sponsored an "Akron Aeros Night Out" ticket drawing among the stations. Five lucky winners received 4 tickets and 4 meal vouchers each to enjoy a night at the park with friends and family. The winners of the drawing include Tallmadge Captain, Steven Wood, Akron Fire Fighters, Johnny Howell and Todd Kelly, Cuyahoga Falls Lieutenant, Chris Martin and Stow Lieutenant, Seth Dowler.

"For all their hard work and long shifts away from family and friends, we wanted to show our area EMS crews just how appreciative we are," said Dr. Robert Kent, President and CEO of Summa Western Reserve Hospital. "This is but a small gesture of thanks but a truly heartfelt one as we honor these remarkably dedicated individuals who risk their lives each day in our communities."
