Marie Klein, a junior at Walsh Jesuit, set a Guinness Book world record Friday night when she completed 42 consecutive back handsprings.
Klein accomplished the unbelievable feat prior to Walsh’s football game against St. Vincent-St. Mary at Conway Memorial Stadium, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.
A capacity crowd cheered her on.
“It was crazy,” Klein told the Beacon. “I loved the way the crowd reacted. My mom was crying. It didn’t feel real at times as I did it. I almost passed out, but I kept going. I am real excited to have the record. Now I want to break my own record.”
Klein, 16, stands 4-foot-11 and said she has been cheerleading for six years.
