Walsh Grad to Coach OSU Buckeyes

An Akron native retires from the NFL to join the Ohio State staff.

A Cuyahoga Falls graduate will soon be seen on the sidelines at Ohio Stadium.

Kansas City Chiefs Linebacker Mike Vrabel retired from the National Football League this week to take on the role as the assistant coach for Ohio State University’s football team.

OhioStateBuckeyes.com reports Vrabel, a 14-year NFL veteran, three-time Super Bowl champ and graduate of , said he was excited to join the Ohio State staff.

Vrabel and Ohio State Head Coach Luke Fickell were college roommates at OSU. The Akron native has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He was named Academic all-Big Ten four times.
