Shaker Smokes Cuyahoga Falls 49-9

The team is 5-1 on the season

Shaker's sole loss of the season feels like a lifetime ago.

The football team kept rolling this weekend with a 49-9 win over Cuyahoga Falls. The Red Raiders are now 5-1 on the season.

Shaker jumped all over Cuyahoga Falls with a 49-0 lead before the visiting Black Tigers scored on a touchdown and safety in the fourth quarter. Junior running back Ramses Owens did most of the damage, scoring three rushing touchdowns and earning 138 yards on just 11 carries.

Senior quarterback Jimmie Pope had an efficient day, completing 5 of 8 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns.

The defense added two scores, including junior linebacker Keith McCrae's 37-yard interception return in the first quarter.

Shaker plays Valley Forge at 1 p.m. Saturday at home.
