Midwest’s Largest Free Irish Fest - Cuyahoga Falls Riverfront Irish Fest

June 10th, 11th & 12th The Riverfront Irish Festival wants you to be seen wearn’ GREEN at our 18th Annual Riverfront Irish Festival. We will open three stages of music all weekend to the amazing sounds of such diverse and exciting performers as Seven Nations, The Glengarry Bhoys, Brigid’s Cross, New Barleycorn, That Irish Band, Callahan & O’Connor, Dulahan, The Shaffer Brothers, Fergie & The Bog Dogs, Pat Flynn & the Green Blossom Special, West Side Steve, The East Side Irish American Pipe Band, The MacConmara Dance Academy, and The Archbishop Hoban High School Bag Pipe Band. Some of the very best Irish and Celtic bands from across the United States and it is all FREE!

Spend all weekend at Falls River Square, feel like you visited Ireland in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The family friendly event features three stages of music, the Irish Market Place with traditional Irish and American fare, Irish food court, Irish Mass on Sunday. All your favorite Irish beers will be featured too. Traditional Irish dance by The MacConmara Dance Academy on Saturday. Spend all three days to enjoy all the highlights including lots of fun for both adults and kids! AND best of all FREE admission!

The festival will be opened again at 5 PM by the Mayor of Cuyahoga Falls Don Robart recognizing the Irish American’s who service our community with this annual festival.

On June 11th at 8 a.m. The Riverfront Irish Festival 5K & 1 mile Fun Run presented by Summit DD will feature awards for 7 different age divisions & best overall award & best time in kilt. A special open house will be held during and after the race at the new Summit DD building on 2355 Second Street where you can watch the runners from the Summit DD’s patio and you can cheer on the runners and walkers. Refreshments and the Irish baked potato bar will be available to all from 8 AM to Noon. The runner’s awards presentation will be at the Summit DD patio directly following the races. There will be a special pre-registration at the MRDD booth on June 10th from 6 to 8 PM & Race applications are on our website www.riverfrontirishfest.com.

The newly crowned 2011 Northern Ohio Rose of Tralee, Miss Bridget Linton will be at the festival on Saturday June 11th from 5:45 PM to 8:00 PM for photos at the Main stage area.

Sunday June 12th at 11 AM will feature an Irish Catholic Mass presided over Immaculate Heart of Mary’s Priest Father Thomas McCann. This will be one of the last masses he will be the celebrant before he retires at the end of June after 43 years as a Pastor. In addition the Immaculate Heart of Mary’s choir will be singing during the mass and Pat Flynn will be singing the pre-mass.

Put on your Kilt on Sunday for the 2nd annual Kilt contest presented by the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Annie Moore division #2, the contest has 7 different categories with contestants being judged on authenticity, style, personality, and presentation.  

The festival is sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Brendan Division; this festival is recognized as one of the very best FREE festivals in Ohio. The AOH is an Irish Catholic Cultural organization was organized in America in 1836 and is dedicated to preserving the history and integrity of the Irish people. This year marks the 175th anniversary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in the United States living by the motto in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.
