Woodridge School Board Vice President Resigns

The board is now accepting resumes from potential candidates to take her place.

Woodridge School Board Vice President Melissa Wilkinson handed in her letter of resignation Friday, saying she wanted to spend more time with her family.

Her term would have ended on December 31, 2013.

Wilkinson also resigned from the Junior Akron Women's Civic Club earlier this year, also saying that she's like to spend more time with her family.

“She did a good job for the school board,” Board President Cheryl Hoover said.

Hoover said the board is now accepting resumes until Aug. 1 at 4 p.m. from any interested candidates to fill her position.

The board will setup interviews with selected candidates on Wed., Aug. 10.
