What was your career path leading up to your current job?

I attended from 1998-2002 and received my B.B.A. (Bachelor of Business Administration). My concentration was finance. I thought I wanted a career in financial planning but felt differently after a brief internship at a large brokerage firm. Upon graduation, I moved to Chicago with no job and no prospects. After a few months of temping, I landed a job at FOX Sports Chicago as an Office Administrator. I was promoted to my current position and returned to the area in 2004.

What does your job entail, and what is your career goal?

My job is to make sure the employees of both FOX Sports Ohio offices (Cincinnati & Broadview Heights) have the resources they need to do their jobs. I manage everything from office equipment to our internship program. The aspect of my job that gives me the greatest satisfaction is our community outreach efforts, called FOX Supports Ohio.  I oversee charitable giving, employee volunteer events and in-kind donations.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment was returning to school in 2007 to pursue my Master’s degree. I attended Case Western Reserve University and graduated in 2009 with my M.B.A. (Masters of Business Administration) and C.N.M. (Certificate in Nonprofit Management). I wanted to obtain these degrees before I turned 30 and I succeeded with only a few months to spare!

What's your favorite high school memory?

I have so many great memories of high school that it’s difficult to choose just one. Generically, I have to say that the times I spent goofing around with friends were the best. Many of my high school friends are still good friends to this day.

What restaurant, social gathering place or other place did you enjoy spending time at in the Falls when you were in school?

Reggie’s Family Restaurant is located just behind my parents’ house and my friends and I used to gather there, usually for breakfast or late-night dining. It was so fun to goof around while eating Reggie Burgers. Looking back, we were probably pretty loud and obnoxious.

What advice would you give to future graduates?

My advice to graduates is to make plans for the future, but don’t become a slave to them. Remain open to all the opportunities and experiences that come your way.
