Falls City Schools Treasurer in the Running for Ravenna Job

The district's treasurer is among six finalists vying for the Ravenna job.

At the Ravenna School District Board of Education’s meeting Monday night, six candidates were selected to become finalists for the district’s open treasurer position.

Cuyahoga Falls School District Treasurer Kathryn Sines is one of six who will move on to the first round of interviews. Other applicants chosen include: Dawn Altman, Treasurer, Windham Exempted Village Schools; Philip D Butto IV, Treasurer and CFO, Keystone Local Schools; David Hoskin, Treasurer, Newbury Local Schools; Samantha Pochedly, Treasurer and CFO, Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools; and Daniel Russomanno, Payroll Clerk, Ravenna School District.

The district’s current treasurer, Jerrold Meyer, plans to retire this summer.

“The current Board, the superintendent and the treasurer have had an excellent working relationship. We plan to employ a new treasurer who will also work effectively with the entire team. It’s a critical position in the district and we have some good candidates to consider,” Ravenna Board President Roger Boltz said in a press release.

The Ohio School Board Association will assist in the interview process, as it has already advertised and promoted the opening and organized the applications. The OSBA recently managed the superintendent search to replace Ravenna’s superintendent, Dr. Tim Calfee.

This year, Sines celebrated the district's clean audit in January. Sines declined to comment on the matter, but said she would speak to the media after the first round of interviews take place.

The Ravenna board expects to announce its new treasurer by mid-May.
