announced his resignation on May 31, leaving a vacant seat which now must be filled.
Only question is: who's ready to take on the position?
Here's how the process will play out, according to vice president Kellie Patterson:
- The board will advertise for letters of interest in the position. The board must then convene to select a person to fill the vacancy within 30 days of Grimes's resignation. This can be done at a regular or special meeting of the board.
- If the board is unable to select a candidate, or if no one applies for the position, before the 30 day period is up, then the vacancy is handed over to the Summit County Probate Court to make the appointment.
- Whomever is appointed will sit on the board for about 18 months and will have the option of running to retain the seat in the November 2013 election.
What experience and qualities should the next school board member have in helping to guide the district's future? Please reply in the Comments below and feel free to include whom you'd like to see fill the position.
Anna, you really should have thought through what you posted about me. I've posted my diploma above for your viewing pleasure. I would post the professional license I hold but I've figured I'd wait until you decide to fabricate stories about that as well before I do. Your statement- "despite the fact that her highest level of education is a GED" is an outright lie. In fact most of your post is an outright lie. I'm distressed that the Patch editors have decided to remove it, although I understand their reason's for doing so. You seemed determined to point out that others have put in countless hours and thousands of dollars to achieve some higher degree of prestige than I have. My license cost me over $4000 to earn, I must biennially put hours and dollars into continuing education to retain that license, and I am nothing but proud that I entered the workforce doing something I wanted to do. Have you let your current vocational students know how little you think of them? I'm astounded that Mr. Grimes resignation from the board has somehow turned in to an attack campaign against me. I had absolutely nothing to do with his decision. If you have information to the contrary, please cite your sources when posting. To "Mr. Real", I think that the Academic Costume Code & Ceremony Guide is just that- a guide. I broke no rules, but I am determined to set a new standard for vocational graduates.
Do you study the stars? No? Then I guess you're right. You're not a "cosmotologist." Additionally, I have yet to see a report filed by anyone regarding anyone else's work habits. Perhaps you should bring this to someone's attention. Or do you think I should sit in the halls of the high school and police the time clock? Maybe I should proofread your posts while I'm there. When you publish false statements about me or high school principals, or anyone else for that matter, it's called libel. I suggest you look up the definition and consequences the word.
