"We have a pretty decent crowd for a summer board meeting tonight, but it takes me back to February of 2005 when we had the thickest crowd I think I've ever seen at a board meeting... When I think back to what the district has done since then - how quickly we came out of fiscal watch, how quickly we paid off debt... and achieved the 'Excellent' rating - I'm thinking it's true, you have been a wonderful superintendent. Thank you. We wish you well," Dunphy said.

Holland said he worked with incoming Superintendent Todd Nichols, who also was present at the meeting, during the administrative transition.

"It's time for a change. The transition has been outstanding, and you guys will be able to take it to the next level. You've assembled a great team," Holland said.

A special meeting of the Board of Education will take place in its meeting room at 6:30 p.m. Tues., July 26 at 431 Stow Ave. to vote on its contract with District Treasurer and CFO Kathryn Sines.
