VIDEO Trees Crush Homes in Cuyahoga Falls

Eight trees topple onto homes following Wednesday night's storm.

The city reports eight trees fell onto houses in Cuyahoga Falls during the storm Wednesday night.

Roof damage is reported at Fire Station No. 1, located on Front Street, the and .

The electric department estimates 1,700 residents lost power during the storm. As of 9 a.m. Thursday, only 200 residents remained without power. Three AT&T power poles were taken down by another snapped line along Highland Avenue. Power to those specific poles is expected to be repaired Thursday evening or Friday at the latest.

The areas in town hit hardest with electrical issues include homes near Bailey Road, Tallmadge Road, East Broadway and Portage Trail, near 5th, 6th and 7th streets.
