UPDATE: Severe Storm Delays Sheraton Dam Demolition

This marks the third first-cut delay due to intemperate weather and high water levels.

The first cut into the Sheraton Mill Dam has been delayed due to the severe thunderstorm that hit Tuesday night and continued on into Wednesday morning.

Since the current water level surged to 1,130 cubic feet per second over the last 24 hours, it is not safe for the crew to begin, said city service director Valerie Wax Carr.

When the water level returns to 200 cubic feet per second, demolition will be scheduled.
