City Council to Vote on Power Deal

Cuyahoga Falls City Council will vote Monday night on a sales contract with American Municipal Power-Ohio.

The items up for vote tonight include:

  • A sales contract with American Municipal Power-Ohio, which is in the middle of purchasing natural gas Fremont Energy Center from FirstEnergy. The agreement is expected to save cities $3 per megawatt hour.
  • Approval of support from council to development a drinking water source protection plan.
  • An ordinance amending the Traffic Control File by providing for installation of various traffic control devices.
  • A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to apply for and accept financial assistance in the form of a grant or loan from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the State Road Widening Project.
