Name: Vincent Rubino

Age: 60

Occupation: Retired from a 36-year career in health and human services. He retired from his post as CEO of Hope Homes after 28 years.

Education: Bachelors degree in labor economics and a Masters degree in technical education from the University of Akron. Graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1969.

Office Sought: Ward 1 City Council

Experience: Has served the past three years on City Council.

Candidate Statement:

Economic development and maintaining the appearance of neighborhoods, are the two top issues Rubino focuses on while serving the residents of Ward 1.

“That kind of economic development is important to maintain for our city,” he said.

“I know we’re concerned about other forms of economic development too, but we certainly want to keep in mind that we’ve got some great stuff going on already right at the gateway to our city.”
