Candidate Statement:  I am more than qualified to continue in my capacity as the Ward 8 councilman, due to the experience that I have gained, not only as a Councilman for the past 7 years, but for 3 years prior to being elected, I was the president of C.O.R.E. " Committee Opposed to Ruining the Environment," that was politically involved in preventing a gun range, and planned expansion of the Hardy Road Landfill on Ward 8's borders. Thankfully, the planned "Landfill Expansion" area is now part of the Metro Parks system.

As our Community heads into the future it is imperative that we have experienced leadership in place. I am committed to holding the city fiscally responsible to deal with the challenging economics that our community is facing. To achieve this, we have to encourage new economic development.

If we can get new businesses to join our community, the results would be improving the health, safety and welfare of our whole community. New businesses would result in a ripple effect; creating jobs, bringing more families to our city, filling our ever- increasing home vacancies, and finally increasing the city's revenue base, which would put our city on solid financial ground, improving the quality of life for us all.

Also, there are the continued goals that I, in partnership with the ddministration, are continuing to pursue specifically to Ward 8. Such as improving our roadways, utility infrastructure, and making sure that any new development, whether they be commercial businesses, or housing developments, are held to the highest quality that our zoning and building codes can produce. As one travels through Ward 8, it can be seen that some of these things are happening as we speak, but there's a lot more to be done, which is why I want to continue in my capacity as Ward 8 Councilman.
