Boil Alert Issued for Fifth Street

The city has issued a boil alert for those along Fifth Street from Falls Ave. to Broad Blvd.

A portion of a water main pipe was removed during a main break repair on Monday.

The repair caused water to drop below pressure and now the city is taking safety precautions with a boil alert. The boil alert is in effect for those along Fifth Street from Falls Ave. to Broad Blvd. until Wednesday at 4 p.m. and the are not included in this boil alert.

If you plan to use water for cooking or drinking, it’s recommended to bring water to a rolling boil for about two minutes.
